Beyond Barriers, Inc. has been working in your Local Communities and Court Systems for over 15 years. We understand the challenges that clients may face and we work with them to overcome their obstacles and fulfill their court orders.  We are certified through the Nurturing Parenting Program, National Anger Management Association, and Florida Certification Board. Our Therapists are licensed through the State of Florida.

Charity Williams

Charity has worked in the court system (both dependency and criminal) for the last 15 years. She is a certified Nurturing Parenting Instructor, Certified Child Protective Investigator, Certified Behavioral Health Targeted Case Manager and a Certified Anger Management Specialist. She has a M.S. and B.S. from Florida State University. She has a strong desire to help those in the local communities overcome the barriers that are keeping them from succeeding. She is a member of the National Anger Management Association, the Lee County Continuum of Care Board and the Hendry/ Glades County Sexual Abuse Response Team.

Karline Auguste
LMHC

Karline Auguste is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She has received her Bachelor in Community Health, Health Educator at Florida Gulf Coast University in 2007 and completed her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Argosy University in 2013. She has worked with a diverse population. She has received training in many areas which include dynamics of Domestic Violence, Trauma informed care, CARD, and Anxiety Disorders. She has worked for the dependency system for the past 5 years striving to keep families together and keeping children safe.  She believes individual can change when giving the opportunity to become self-aware of their own thought process.

Charlene Gardener
LCSW

Charlene Gardner is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work in 2004 and her Master's Degree in Social Work in 2008. She is Child and Adult Trauma trained as well as EMDR Trained. She specializes in the areas of Substance Abuse, Behavioral Disorders, and focuses on the use of Mindfulness, Solution Focused, and Cognitive Behavioral Techniques. Charlene is also a nationally recognized Nurturing Parenting Trainer/Consultant for the Nurturing Parenting Programs. She is a proud member of the Association of Family Law Professionals.

Anne Goldstein
PSY.D.

Dr. Goldstein is a Licensed Psychologist with the State of Florida.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, in 1977.  She attended the University of North Florida for graduate school and received her M.A. in Counseling Psychology in 1983.  Dr. Goldstein attended the Miami Institute of Psychology for her Doctorate in Clinical Forensic Psychology, graduating in 1992.  Her dissertation was entitled "A Critical Review of the Organic Theories in the Etiology of the Antisocial Personality Disorder." Dr. Goldstein's professional positions have included ER Psych. Evaluator, Mental Health Director for a large, male state prison, group private practice ownership, Corporate Director of Mental Health (for the USA) with a correctional healthcare company,  and Neuropsychiatric Evaluation Coordinator for a private, psychiatric hospital to name a few.

Rebecca Sinclair
Ed.D. LMHC

Rebecca Sinclair is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida.  She received her Master of Science in Counseling in 1997 from the University of Dayton and her Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University in 2016.  She has worked with adults, children, and adolescents in various treatment settings and modalities over the past 25 years. She is invested in keeping current with the most current research in the counseling field. She specializes in the areas of substance abuse treatment and intimate partner violence.  She has worked with intimate partner violence survivors for over ten years and in the substance abuse field for over five years.  Her counseling style is grounded on evidenced based Cognitive Behavior Therapy however it is tailored to include Humanistic Therapy as well.  Rebecca believes that your unique set of beliefs and/or spirituality, and strengths can be put into action for creating solutions and paths to achieve the goals that you have identified for yourself.

Kristen Allen
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, MCAP

Kristen Allen is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the state of Florida. She holds a Master’s Certified Addictions Professional credential. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology from Hodges University in 2015. Kristen graduated in 2018 from Hodges University with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Kristen has worked in Substance Use Disorders for the last 9 years and has experience with rehabilitation, detox, court systems, and crisis stabilization. She incorporates therapy modalities using Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focus, Cognitive Behavioral, Experiential and Narrative Therapy. Kristen utilizes these skills to promote advocacy and self-efficacy with genuine passion to help each individual reach their full potential.

Laura Arnold
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Laura is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in the State of Florida. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication in 2013 from Florida Gulf Coast University. Laura obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2017 from Florida Gulf Coast University. Laura has had additional training in the areas of Depression, Suicide, and Anxiety from the Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in Philadelphia. She believes in the importance of an individual’s emotional and behavioral health. Laura maintains unconditional positive regard and creating a warm and open therapeutic environment of acceptance. She has worked with individuals challenged by substance abuse, behavioral and personality disorders, and human sexuality.

Brad Vattilana
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

Brad is a Registered Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern with the state of Florida. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree with a major in Psychology and minor in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University in 2014. He received his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Hodges University in 2019. Brad has worked with Adults, Adolescents, children, and couples within various settings. He specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT); but also incorporates solutions-focused and mindfulness to his counseling style. Brad focuses on being able to find the positivity in situations, and utilizes that to help clients be empowered.
